Uganda, Africa May 14-30, 2013

The team that went consisted of 13 New Horizons Ministries alumni, Ron Yoder & his son from CO, and Nelson & Sarah Coblentz. They ministered in 7 prisons, held 4 village clinics, and did several village crusades.

“Our community of inmates and staff was greatly blessed by the spiritual and material blessings you carried along when you visited. Allow me on behalf of the entire Remand Prison Kampala Community to express our appreciation for items that included Bibles, Soap, and football. We are looking forward to the next visit and hope to share and praise the Lord Jesus Christ with the team.” Prossy Najjuma, Officer in Charge, Kampala Remand Prison

“On behalf of Jinja Remand Prison I wish to pass on our heart-felt joy to your team for visiting us, praying with us, praising with us, sharing experiences and testimonies, preaching the wonderful word of God, and most of all, the gifts offered to us and our inmates. These included soap, Bibles, footballs, music CDs, and a lot more. We greatly thank you and pray that God continues to bless you and your works. We hope that soon we shall see each other again.”  Shem Lwanga, Officer in Charge, Jinja Remand Prison

“Three thousand Bible copies in Uganda, English, and Swahili language were given to prisoners and villagers in rural villages where clinics were conducted. Over 4,000 inmates in various prisons received a bar of soap as a ministry of encouragement and sign of love for them. At the medical clinics 2,600 people, both adults and children, received medical treatment. Two hundredfamilies received mosquito nets to protect them from Malaria which is the greatest threat in the country of Uganda. A total of 12,000 people where reached with the gospel of Jesus and approx. 3,000 people in the prisons, crusades, and clinics came to Jesus. The soccer game that the team had with the Jinja Prison inmates especially impacted their lives as it portrayed that Jesus’ love goes even to games. We appreciate the Gospel Express Ministry and their friend ministry of New Horizon for such a special love for the people of Africa, specifically Uganda.” -Billy, Uganda Pastor
