In Loving Memory

Many have inquired of the recent passing of my son Richard. Richard Lee Stayer born July 31, 1969 in Canton, OH where he was 1987 graduate of Lake High School. Richard is survived by his wife, Sandy; children, Megan, Kirsten, Ricky, and Courtney.

Ricard’s health issues lead to his home going on March 15, 2010. The past 3-4 years Richard experienced serious asthma problems that lead to other respiratory conditions; shortness of breath and sleep apnea. Several weeks before his passing, Richard experienced left-side chest pains, he was then taken to the hospital. Through further tests it showed that Richard was having only half heart function and a blood clot near to his heart. Within a few days the blood clot moved to his brain and Richard suffered a massive stroke and seizure and he became unconscious. CAT scans revealed hemorrhaging on the brain and right side paralyzation.

Most of the family was able to be by his bedside for the last 2 days while Richard’s life was being sustained by a ventilator. At approximately 11:30 am, Monday, March 15, the decision was made to remove the ventilator. Within 10-12 minutes, Richard passed into eternity.

Our hearts have been broken in grief and sorrow, yet Jesus has walked among us, enabling us by His grace. May God be glorified!

My Name Is I Am

I was regretting the past,

and fearing the future.

I was regretting the past,

and fearing the future.

Suddenly my Lord was speaking:

“My name is I am.”

He paused.

I waited.

He continued,

“When you live in the past,

with its mistakes and regrets,

it is hard. I am not there.

My name is not I WAS.

When you live in the future,

with its problems and fears,

it is hard. I am not there.

My name in not I WILL BE.

When you live in this moment

it is not hard. I am here.

My name is I AM.”
