Join us in prayer for the South Carolina Prison Crusade, taking place February 8-12th. Applications are no longer available, but we send out a huge “thank-you” to all those who signed up. We anticipate the work of the Lord and we rest in the truths of Christ’s words: “My word will always produce fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” Ambassadors is what He calls us, may we live out that honor and carry the name and goodness of God to those who are so desperately in need.

Uganda Trip 2011

During our recent trip to Uganda, Africa, we witnessed God giving increase to many seeking souls. The fields were indeed ripe unto harvest. The first convert was our van driver, Emanuel, and eight hours later his wife Rebecca also prayed to receive Christ. I really thank God for prayer partners and ministry supporters who make such a missionary journey feasible.

Because of the Bible Read-A-Thon proceeds, we were able to purchase and give Bibles to many prisoners and villagers in English and the Lugandan languages.

The mission team also placed a bar of soap into the hands of approzimately two thousand, seven hundred prisoners. I bid them to remember that soap cleanses the skin, but the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin! We wept with the broken at our final service with thirty-five women prisoners, some cuddling a child in their arms. Ron Yoder preached on the pain of rejection and the power of forgiveness. Most of them could relate to abuse and not having a loveing, caring Father in their up-bringing.

The misson team (and Ugandan construction workers) also built a classroom at a primitive orphanage school and assisted Ugandan doctors and nurses in three village medical clinics. The medical clinics again provided a unique opportunity to preach the Gospel to a captive audience. The Holy Spirit moved mightily among the people – people from different religions standing publically to pray and receive Jesus Christ. It was God-sent opportunity to preach Jesus while the sick are being treated with medicine. It was after all Jesus who said ” I was sick and ye visited Me. I was in prison and you came unto Me.” Matt. 25:36

The past 2 weeks I had the privilage of sharing the Bondage To Freedom Seminars at 4 different prisons in Ohio with over 300 inmates particiating.
What a blessing it is to share the truth of God’s Word and to witness the transformation that God does in hearts and lives that are willing to surrender their will to God’s will. To see them experience the freedom in their lives as they continue to walk in God’s Truth and forgive those who have rejected them and have caused the hurt and pain in their lives.

Gospel Express Ministries

In 1984, Nelson and Sarah Coblentz heeded God’s call on their life and formed the Gospel Express Evangelistic Team. A few close friends and supporters assisted them, and God surrounded them with a seven-member board of directors to bring guidance and fulfillment to their vision for evangelism through singing and preaching. The headquarters, originally in Lancaster County, PA, moved to Columbus, NC, in 2000.

The initial focus of Gospel Express was evangelistic ministry in prisons, churches and “Unto the least of these,”however God chooses. Gospel Express has since expanded to include community tent crusades, support chaplaincy programs, comprehensive Bible study correspondence courses, and a New Testament ministry to prisoners in the U.S. and Canada. Further facets of the ministry include a daily radio commentary, a recording ministry and in 1997 an international ministry to the African countries of Ghana, Uganda and Kenya.

Gospel Express is a nonprofit 501-C3 faith-based ministry and is funded by private donations.
